Based on the history of the chart at http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/support/planning/suptschedule.html I don't expect V5R4 until FALL COMMON. And I'm basing that on end of support for V5R1 being Fall COMMON. With IBM's support of X-2 that seems to tie in, somewhat, with the last few releases.
