For my application I am showing the inventory that "belongs" to a customer,
i.e.. what they can order.  I could also use it to pull up their account
information.  I am only worried about a "session key" when we get to order
entry and am currently using a hidden field for that along with the
username.

If I understand that correctly, you're using the username as the "session
key"? What happens if the same user logs on twice?
