Hi Booth -

The OVRDBF specifying SHARE(*YES) must proceed OPNQRYF.

Is this actually true? I saw documentation yesterday saying otherwise and wondered at the time if it was true.

OVRDBF SHARE(*YES) does NOT have to proceed OPNQRYF. It DOES have to proceed any open of the file that you want to use the results of the OPNQRYF. That's assuming that the ODP is not set to be shared by some other means such as having the member set to SHARE(*YES). If sharing is specified by some other means, the OVRDBF is not needed at all.
