PC's get viruses and spyware and are support headaches. They also allow
non-work related enticements like surfing the I. This is esp true with older
PC's. Warehouses beat up terminals and PC's. Keyboards notoriously fail.
There's lots of dust, dirt, and banging around.

Ethernet terminals work great in this environment. CLI is good, Nlynx is good.
I've tested, used, and sold both.

A big issue has been the font you can get in 132 column mode. Some terminals
are unreadable in this mode.

They fall into three categories:

  proprietary OS based TN5250e (cheapest)
WinCE based with browser, email, and file viewers
Linux based with browser, email, and file viewers

The more features you get the more they cost (duh!). You can get 122 key
keyboards with any.
