Do you have an ethernet line defined? WRKLIND LIND(*ELAN)
Is it active? 8=Work with status
CFGTCP

1. Work with TCP/IP interfaces
Do you have your iSeries internet address here?
Is it active? F11=Display interface status

12. Change TCP/IP domain information
Do you have that all filled out?

Is TCP/IP active? Is telnet active?
Start, Programs, IBM iSeries Access for Windows, iSeries Navigator, My
Connections, your400, Network, Servers, TCP/IP

Can you ping yourself from the iSeries? From a command line, either PING
MY400NAME or PING 'xxx.yyy.zzzz.aaa' where that is your iSeries IP
address.

Can your client ping the iSeries? From your client, Start, Run, cmd, ping
my400name or ping 'xxx.yyy.zzzz.aaa' where that is your iSeries IP
address.

Then finally try telnet from your client.
