If you check the documentation at that site, you will find that
"AS400File_rs" is an ADO recordset which contains "properties and methods"
as described under the ADO area of the link. AS400Command is an object
created to allow the scripting to send commands to execute, if I remember
correctly. If it's still confusing, feel free to give me a call and I can
probably walk you through some of it pretty quickly on the phone.

Subject: RE: iSeries/AS/400 and .asp commands

John Brandt,

So if I understand the hyperlinks sites you sent me, at those sites are
all the syntax necessary to work with commands like:

AS400File_rs.EOF
     AS400File_rs.Close
      AS400File_rs
      AS400Command

It must be then that the prefix before the period is not as important
the suffix as I don't see any reference to any commands like AS400File
at the sites mentioned at your hyperlinks. Nes Pas?

I'm a beginner programming .ASP and especially against DB2 on the
iSeries.

Thanks,

Dave
