I've never worked in the mainframe area myself.

However, I don't think scalability is defined simply by the size workload.

Instead, scalability is determined by the range of workloads handled by the 
smallest box to the largest.

When you look at the workload and customer size for the small iSeries 800 vs. 
the largest i5 595...that's one heck of an range.

How does the zSeries range compare?
