Hi, Sudha

I don't think RUMBA will work with these commands, as they are really Client Access commands. When you say CA is going away, do you mean that your company is getting rid of it? Because IBM certainly is not - it's just been renamed.

RJS Software Systems, where I now work, has a product called Office Integrator that has this function. A server component is started on the PC that responds to requests from an iSeries. It can also do mail merges in Word from live data on the iSeries. You can look at www.rjssoftware.com.

If you will not have CA or equivalent, you can get or start an REXECD (remote exec daemon or server) on your PC. Some flavors of Windows NT and later have one you can install. There are also 3rd-party ones available - other than ours. ;-) You use the RUNRMTCMD command on the iSeries, instead of STRPCCMD.

Hi all,

In my program, I have used STRPCO and STRPCCMD to invoke default browser
and the desired page on PC. Will this work with RUMBA? I also find the
client access is going away and this may not be the ideal way to do. I
tried to use a java program but that does not run on iSeries as it tries
to invoke the browser on iSeries and errors out. What other ways have
you all been working with?

TIA,
Sudha
