You might want to look at the following tool. If you specify CHKSAVRST ERRORSONLY(*YES), you get a print out of the errors only. On a big system, this can suck it's way through a 10,000 page job log in seconds, and just you a spooled file of the errors. http://www.taatool.com/document/L_chksavrst.htm Al Al Barsa, Jr. Barsa Consulting Group, LLC 400>390 "i" comes before "p", "x" and "z" e gads Our system's had more names than Elizabeth Taylor! 914-251-1234 914-251-9406 fax http://www.barsaconsulting.com http://www.taatool.com http://www.as400connection.com "Chuck Lewis" <clewis@xxxxxxxxx t> To Sent by: "'Midrange Systems Technical midrange-l-bounce Discussion'" s@xxxxxxxxxxxx <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> cc 01/18/2005 01:53 Subject PM RE: Entire system save Please respond to Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@midra nge.com> Didn't the job log record this information in the low level stuff ? It might be too late but I always sign off of the Console with *LIST so I have that as a spool file and can scan through it. Everything went smooth except for one object in QUSRSYS was not saved. For speed, we do not update history when doing backups so I cannot query the object in qusrsys and see what was not backed up from the object descriptions. Outside of display the tape *SAVRST for the sequence number for QUSRSYS and manually comparing the 3036 objects, how can I find out what was not backed up? We have system auditing turned on so would the accounting journal have an entry for the object that was not backed up? If so, what would be the journal codes to look for? Christopher K.
