If he did a duptap instead of a 2nd backup, and the first backup had some logical flaw (as apposed to a physical flaw), then all he would be doing is duplicating a bad backup.


Roger: simple as this sounds, I would highly recommend you get brand new media for your backups and run a tape cleaning cartridge before doing each backup.
