A couple of years ago when I was working at a different company our
supplier of wireless barcode scanners let us test a Windows CE wireless
scanner. We tried a couple of 5250 clients. They worked but were missing
a couple of idiot-proof features that our Symbol scanners had. The
supplier is a company called Data Limited (http://www.dataltd.com).

        Subject: GUI on Pocket PCs

Hi all,

our customer requests a GUI surface for pocket PCs (incl. barcode
scanner),
which are directly connected via WLAN to the iSeries. They should be
controlled by "normal" RPG programs (5250 datastream). As pocket PCs do
not
run full Windows we wonder if there is a software available which converts
the 5250 stream to a GUI. Are there any other suggestions (hardware or
software) to fulfill a GUI on WLAN terminals with iSeries?
Many thanks in advance for any hints on this subject.
Regards,
GEFIS Gesellschaft für
Individual-Software mbH
