Get the PTF that permits you to use image catalogs with 5.1 and load all
your CD's into various images. You'll get the ability then to tell the
PWRDWNSYS command to IPL from an image catalog rather than a CD. It will
be much faster than using CD's, and you won't need to wait around the
office to be prompted to load the next CD. The PTF's can be preloaded the
same way. I was able to do an upgrade from home, and I know that others on
this list have done this as well.

Subject: Upgrading from V5R1 to V5R2

Hi all,

I'm about to upgrade an iSeries 830 from V5R1 to V5R2.
Does anyone have any tips (besides the obvious as checking PTFs, reading
the manuals, etc) about this?

Thanks,

Luis Rodriguez,

Caracas, Venezuela
