This link has a number of items on porting from Oracle, et al., to DB2 on iSeries. The iSeries version is completely SQL and ODBC workable.

I have been given the task of finding a home for our Oracle 8i DB that currently resides on a Novell server. Oracle has dropped support for Novell and we were looking for options of where to move the server. The database we are using has to be SQL and have ODBC hooks. Someone mentioned hosting it on our Iseries via DB2.

Out software vendor supports DB2 so this could be an option. Has anyone tried something like this before? Are there some gotchas associated with the Iseries version of DB2 versus an Unix or Windows installation?
