The first pace makers and dialysis machines were pretty primitive machines. 
There were lots of gotcha's with those machines, but the idea was robust and
the public demanded the process be improved and implemented.  Had we had to
wait for the units to be perfect before we used them, we'd still be in the
planning and research process.

Well, I got a T-Mobile Pocket PC: a cell phone with Windows on it.
 
Ever so often, it forgets how to do phone things, and I have to
push the stylus in the reset hole to make it be a phone again.
 
Reminds me of the joke, if Windows OS were in automobiles, you'd have
To occasionally pull over, close all the windows, turn off the engine,
