All,

We're looking at having old backup tapes (reel-to-reel and 8mm) converted from
tape to CD/DVD.

Objects from the 400 were saved to the tapes using the SAVOBJ.

The local conversion shop we're working with sent us a test CD that doesn't
seem to be in the right format.

Looking at some info online, it doesn't seem to be as simple as copying byte by
byte from tape to CD. In particular, the requirement to use the
qlpHandleCdState and qlpGenCdPremasteringInfo APIs prior to doing a backup.

Does this mean that you can't convert an old tape?

We'd like to work with this local vendor, but if anybody has contact info for
vendors who can handle this request, that would be fine also.

Thanks,

Charles Wilt
