Missing exit points and exit programs has happened to us on a
270 we upgraded from V5R3 to V5R3. In a private e-mail to Jeff I
mentioned that the problem started after I installed the virus checker
on a trial basis. That may have been a coincidence. I removed the
virus checker program but the lost of exit points and exit programs
continued.
IBM says that there may have been a problem with QUSRSYS but
like Jeff they thought that the problem should have manifested itself
immediately and not on a "timed released" basis. When we first got the
270 we were porting from an S10. I restored some stuff from the S10
QUSRSYS to the new one thinking that I was taking a short cut. Bad
idea. Took a few days and a few calls to IBM to get over that one. IBM
thinks that I may have left some bombs waiting for me when I installed
V5R3. IBM recommended that I re-install the V5R3 OS and license
programs from the CDs to clear all of the crap from QUSRSYS. I did the
re-install and so far the exit point problems have not re-occurred,
knock on wood.

Subject: FTP/REXEC exit points disappear

The FTP and REXEC exit points have disappeared 2 times on us, causing
both FTP and REXEC to fail. Since all orders come in via FTP/REXEC this
is a real problem for us. <g>
