RE: Why NOT the web?

You mean I can't do a System Request 2 on my Browser? awwww.... and I so
wanted to see if I could crash my iSeries by running a query through my web
browser. Wait. I have to go do some more updates so that more malicious code
can't take over my PC THROUGH my MS Browser. Oh yeah, I use Mozilla. Never
mind.

For the "MS" people on the list, no offense intended, but get a grip. Don't
confuse millions of lines of code and billions in marketing with a quality
product. 

Here in Texas, we have a law called the deceptive trades practices act. My
local DA has told me on numerous occasions that if it wasn't for the fact
that the Feds and the States take the lead in lawsuits against MS, he'd file
an action against them because Windows qualifies as a deceptive product,
making each person affected eligible for double damages.

I just updated my machine last week.  Looking at it now, there are about
a dozen "Windows Security Updates" that say that not installing this
patch will allow a malicious user to completely take over my machine.

There is NOTHING like that on ANY IBM bug I have ever heard, with the
possible exception of the passwords being stored in the clear in
temporary storage.  So, one bug versus dozens or more a month - no,
there is no similarity.

Never had it happen.  Haven't been able to do it here, Walden.  I get
the idea that this problem might be apocryphal.  But even if it isn't,
it requires physical access to the 5250 terminal.  You can't even
recreate it using a web interface.
