I know I have some legit DVD-RAM media (dual-sided, even!), I'm just not
sure whether the drive in my iSeries is one that supports writing, or
whether it's a read-only DVD-RAM drive (which sounds to me like a
contradiction in terms).

BugBuster's CD Builder product has a 30-day free trial, and the
documentation for it looks promising.
