I don't think 1 image of a size 3,091,292,160 would download any faster than 5 images of size 618,258,432. If I use a member that looks like: *************** Beginning of data 0001.00 0002.00 user assuppliedbyibm assuppliedbyibm 0003.00 namefmt 1 0004.00 lcd /fixes 0005.00 ascii 0006.00 cd /b5691614/249029/c 0007.00 get ftpSF99530.txt 0008.00 get ilstSF99530.txt 0009.00 binary 0010.00 get SF99530_1.bin 0011.00 get SF99530_2.bin 0012.00 get SF99530_3.bin 0013.00 get SF99530_4.bin 0013.00 get SF99530_5.bin 0014.00 quit ****************** End of data ** and do an OVRDBF FILE(INPUT) TOFILE(ROB/FTPIN) MBR(SF99530) it pretty much runs unattended. I've never found ftp to use that large of a percentage of your lan card bandwidth. Maybe running multiple sessions at the same time would run faster? Unless IBM forbids multiple logins. If this does work, then think of the breakdown into multiple images as a bonus. I need a computer that can do anything in a blink of an eye, with a direct link to my brain. Fingers cannot keep up with random thought processes. ;-) -----Original Message----- If you are downloading, what difference does it make? I always use a script file to download, that way I don't have to type in the multiple get's. -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
