David, > Maybe the machine needs a new authority level: > > *ALLOBJEXCEPTTHEREALLYIMPORTANTOBJECTSSOTHATYOUDONTSHOOTYO > URSELFINTHEFOO > TYOUBIGDUMMY I feel for you man. I've been hollerin' about the perils of *ALLOBJ for years now, and finally broke down and put my money where my mouth is. PowerTech has just released a new product called AuthorityBroker that helps guys like us by not having us walk around with *ALLOBJ (and other super-powerful authorities) all the time. Check the authority out when you need it, check it back in when you're done. And if you have to give *ALLOBJ to someone else, audit everything they do when they have the authority checked out. All in all, it's really a lot nicer than an OS reload. jte -- John Earl | Chief Technology Officer The PowerTech Group 19426 68th Ave. S Seattle, WA 98032 (253) 872-7788 ext. 302 john.earl@xxxxxxxxxxxxx www.powertech.com This email message and any attachments are intended only for the use of the intended recipients and may contain information that is privileged and confidential.
