If we compare a LPAR machine with multiple machine, here are the difference 
that we have seen:
- communication: if you use the virtual lan, it is much faster. If you use 
regular lan, no differance
- backup: if you have dedicated tape drive for each partition, no differance
- IPL: no difference (except if you IPL the primary partition, which do not 
apply to the I5)

In fact, there is no real difference. Except that some hardware problem may 
affect all partition (like power supply)

You save on space and software cost.
