A few things: 1. Setting it up is a relative bitch. You (correctly) order all of the equipment, and then IBM ships it to in whatever position they want to, not where you need it. So you, or a CE (billable) have to reconfigure it. 2. If it's not ordered properly, you may have extra equipment/less money. Your BP has to know how to use a tool called the "LPAR Validation Tool" (or LVT). 3). Older models are no problem. Newer models (5xx) require you to buy an overpriced Linux based PC to control it. It's called the Hardware Management Console (or HMC). At COMMON, I called it the "Horrible Machine Console". It mostly works, except for when it doesn't; in fairness, it works for simple things, but stumbles on tough ones. I'm sure that it will be fixed by Christmas (just in time for the Y10K problem).
