Joe, OK, I'll concede--this question would have been more appropriate on the WDSC mailing list. Originally, I just wanted to know how to tell PDM the correct way to launch it but it's gone more into WDSC than PDM. > I didn't know that CODE was written to automatically pass itself a > member. There are other programs that do this... for example, NoteTab > Pro will check to see if it's already running and if so, will simply add > the member to it's list of currently opened files. > As far as I know, that capability doesn't exist in WDSC. That's due to > the fact that WDSC is not an editor, it's an IDE. You don't specify a > member on startup, you specify a workspace. Different design. It would be nice if it did but if it doesn't then I won't waste time trying to make it do something that it doesn't. I was just going under the premise that CODE and LPEX are both part of the WDSC package so one might think that they would share similar functionality. Maybe the fact that they they both don't do this is a feature that I just grasp. > That being said, it would still be cool to have a listener that looked > for requests from the host and then popped the member up in an editor. > And that's what plug-ins are for! Agreed. Scott is the socket expert. I'll leave that for him to work on (in his spare time <g>). Dave Parnin Nishikawa Standard Company Topeka, IN 46571 daparnin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
