Even if this were possible, do you really want to do this?  Given the
fact that the startup time for WDSC is often measured in tens of seconds
(or longer!), do you really want to fire up WDSC each time you want to
edit a member?

Far easier, I think, would be to simply have WDSC always running on your
workstation and then open the member using the table view, which has
been mentioned many times in the WDSC mailing list (which is probably a
more appropriate place for this discussion).

Now if you were really insane and wanted to start a serious learning
project, you might think about creating a WDSC plug-in that would listen
to a socket or a data queue on the host and when a source member was
popped in there, automatically open that source member in the workbench.
I haven't a clue as to how hard it would be, but by the time you were
done you would be an EXPERT at all things WDSC <grin>.
