When I travel internationally I always hit an ATM machine as soon as I
arrive in my destination city - that way you get the best possible
exchange rate, and you don't pay that ridiculous "Exchange Fee" of 3-7%.

Of course, that also means that you have to have some idea of what the
exchange rates are so that you know how much money to get. :)

Pop Quiz - You're going to be in Budapest for 2 days and the ATM asks
you if you want 5,000, 10,000, 15,000, 25,000 or 50,000 Florints.  What
do you choose?

When I don't know I always pick one of the amounts in the middle of the
screen :)
