Are you sure that the job was running in *RQD when the message occurred.
Could it have been in *DFT?
Do a DSPMSG MSGQ(*SYSOPR) OUTPUT(*PRINT).
Then you can find out if the reply was a SYSDFT RPY, MSGDFT RPY or, VALID
RPY
