RE: system reply

Are you sure there isn't an entry in the system reply list entries?  If you
do a WRKRPYLE you can see any that have been set up to be automatically
replied to.  I believe the default reply on the message description is only
used if someone doesn't enter a value but "responds" to the message by
hitting enter.
