Do you shut down all communications, including TCP/IP? In the case of just QINTER being down, I've been known to use RUNRMTCMD to start QINTER back up. And you could always use FTP and QUOTE SITE RCMD STRSBS QINTER or whatever the syntax is. Thr problem w/ that is if there is a problem w/ the backup, there is no way for the operator to do anything about it.
