We did an upgrade from V4R5 to V5R2 in May. The CHGSMTPA AUTOSTART (*NO) and (*YES) did not work. Time to call the support line, although I am not too concerned about this as we only use the iSeries SMTP server for mailing spooled files using SPLTOOL. -----Original Message----- From: Ingvaldson, Scott [mailto:SIngvaldson@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, September 24, 2004 2:33 PM To: 'midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: RE: SMTP attributes Aha! I remember this problem. This is due to a parameter that was added to the CHGSMPTA command with an upgrade (V4R5 or V51, I think). Try doing a CHGSMTPA AUTOSTART(*NO) followed by a CHGSMTPA AUTOSTART(*YES) and see if that fixes it. If that doesn't work call SupportLine, they should be able to find this in their database. I have every special authority. I am getting a message though, that says "Error detected in prompt override program command string" of which the subtext says Cause . . . . . : An error was detected in the command string created in prompt override program QTMSMTAP in QTCP. Processing of the command will not be affected by this error. when I try CHGSMTPA from green screen.
