I omitted the file in the save command. We do not need the file to be saved. The file is just used to capture the job information and pass it on to the monitoring program. -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Carl Galgano Sent: Monday, September 20, 2004 9:27 AM To: 'Midrange Systems Technical Discussion' Subject: RE: Keep File from locking in back or keep it from backup Could try doing a save while active. That would allow you to save the open files. cjg Carl J. Here are the steps: 1) The backup starts 2) My CL program submits, clear BJBW001F and BJBW002F before I {CPYSPLF FILE(QPDSPAJB) TOFILE(BJBW001F) SPLNBR(*LAST)} and {CPYF FROMFILE(BJBW001F) TOFILE(BJBW002F}. 3) The problem I have is the backup locks my two files. Should I take the clear out and delete the record after I gotten the job information. I use this command to capture the backup job number as I monitor it. Or is there away to stop the backup from backup up these files. -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
