I am not trying to swap, really. We have recently purchased a C/S package that one has to log on to. It prompts you with a user profile and password window. It fails for users created prior to V2R2. I proved that the API fails on these old profiles with CPF22F0. This is not listed in the APIs error messages to monitor for. It basically says, Unexpected error - see FFDC data. I found a second API QsyGetProfileHandle that I want to test against these old profiles. Though I cannot get it to work at all. No error message, no Profile Handle, No change of user profile logon count. What is this set effective user API? Do you have an example of the PR and usage in RPGLE you are willing to share? Will it work for accepting a user logon request and spawning off a job to run with that user? Chris Bipes -----Original Message----- I may have missed it but why are you trying to swap? For many functions there are alternative APIs that are more efficient and can do what swapping used to do. For example, what about the set effective user API?
