MacOS X is running a BSD variant called "Darwin." It's based heavily on
FreeBSD, in fact Apple actually hired Jordan K. Hubbard, one of the
founders of the FreeBSD project to oversee the engineering of the BSD core
of OSX.

However, the Mac still has the ultra-user-friendly user interface
developed by Apple. BSD stability with Mac ease-of-use? Sounds pretty
interesting, doesn't it?

Hopefully someday IBM will make it possible to support EVERY operating
system for things like iSeries Navigator, WDSCi, etc. Unfortunately, so
far even things they've written in Java only work on one platform. :)
IMHO, that's why the "iSeries Access for web" is heading in the right
direction.

Okay, I'll shove that soap box back under my bed, now.
