I'd like to generically check whether an object exists from a CL program. For example, I have journal receivers JRNRCV0001, JRNRCV0002, etc. I don't care which journal receiver is found, as long it matches JRNRCV*. Has anyone implemented the equivalent of CHKOBJ OBJ(*LIBL/GEN*) OBJTYPE(*BLAH)? I imagine I could take a generic object name and run a DSPOBJD over it; just hoping someone else invented that wheel.
