I have a Printer File that is defined as going to a specific printer, in the Printer File command/attributes. The Program does this: OVRPRTF FILE( ) OUTQ( ) HOLD( ) SAVE( ) So it seems to me that whoever runs this program their output will go to this particular printer. I have a remote user who this affects. I wasn't sure if I should change the PRINTER FILE to go to *JOB, or to Make a duplicate of this file, put it in this Users lib, change her JOBD so that this lib is first. I'm considering using a break message handling program, which can be set up via the CHGMSGQ command, and then have a scheduled job send a message to the workstations at the proper times. First off, are there any other better methods for such a task? The more difficult problem with this method is that the CHGMSGQ command needs to be run every time a user logs into the workstation. At this site, the initial program is sacred for political reasons and must not be modified. How might I have a new job run a command without changing the initial program?
