Haven't been following this thread but a word of caution. If you used the IBM CD media to do the initial load of the LIC and now you are going to migrate your system you will want to use option #1 to Restore else you won't have your MFnnnn PTF's brought over. You will need to reapply your Cum, and Hyper packages if they are missing. You will not need to do any DASD prep work (Add, RAID, etc.) again. --- Doug Hart -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of JOberholtzer@xxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, August 26, 2004 12:33 PM To: midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: Slightly altering unload/reload <snip> If one has already did, with the IBM CD's, a LIC install only, and has already added all the disk drives, then, do you see it as a problem to, instead of using 2. Install Licensed Internal Code and Initialize System one uses 1. Restore Licensed Internal Code ? </snip> Rob, There is no reason to reload the SLIC or do any hardware work. Just pick up with the OS install and go for it. Been there, done that, works great.
