Hello Doug,

Remote SNA location name is the Local Control Point value on the remote system. Usually the same as system name. Found using DSPNETA on remote system.

Remote SNA network ID is the Local Network ID on the remote system. Also found using DSPNETA. Default is APPN.

Yes you must use the SNA.IBM.COM suffix.

Yes you can use DNS. For example:

/QIBM/UserData/OS400/DNS/db.sna.ibm.com

; Forward mapping file
@ IN SOA blah blah blah
; Name server
SNA.IBM.COM IN NS mysystem.something.com
; Hosts
SYS1.APPN IN NS 192.168.0.1
SYS2.APPN IN NS 192.168.9.3

This is for OS/400 DNS but DNS is DNS.

SYSn is the remote control point name, APPN is the network ID. APPN is the default but you can set it anything as long as it matches the value used in the controller description.

Regards,
Simon Coulter.
