Yes that keyboard is a little whacky. Just to bring in the geezer factor. Due to rack space considerations there is no separate numeric keypad. But you will notice there is a numlock key. The numbers overlay certain letters on the keyboard (like I, J, K, L). Some of the old geezers will remember keypunch machines, etc that did the same. However, in this jerked over Linux machine, the Numlock simply turns off processing of those alphabetic keys and does not turn on the numerics. Hitting numlock again restores function to the letters. This same keyboard works great with Windows. It comes with a flat panel display, mouse and a weird keyboard. That's great, I have to master another keyboard. You must set up the HMC first and then set up the system. The instructions omit this fact. So the sequence is put everything together, apply power to the display, power up the HMC. Then, and only then do you apply power to the i5! You can also set up so that you can drive it remotely through a browser, but you must set up your security properly for this. Or both? Basically, how do you connect to and interact with it?
