Do you have a W2K INS running on the 400? If so you can map a drive to the other W2K machine and back it up using the tape sharing. Otherwise you would have to connect the LTO up to the external SCSI on the W2K server... -----Original Message----- From: Dan Bale [mailto:dbale@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, August 16, 2004 11:00 AM To: midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Back up W2K server to iSeries tape drive - how? Our net admin (new to the 400 world) is asking if we can backup the W2K server (separate box from the iSeries) to the Ultrium LTO tape drive on our v5r2 iSeries. I searched the archives, got results pared down to 200+, and came away with, yes it can be done. Other than that, I don't know how to get him started. Pointers to other references would be greatly appreciated! db -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
