Hey, lookie, lookie, IBM's published the simple CL code to switch a profile: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r3/ic2924/index.htm?info/apis/apiexushand.htm Stick a CALL QCMD in the middle, and away you go! Lessee, STRSST, CRTUSRPRF, hmmmmm. Even after reading the entire thread now, I *still* don't understand why IBM lets the job think that the switched-to profile is the one running the job. Wouldn't it have been better if the job just inherited the special & other authorities from the new profile, and kept the signed-on profile the one that everything is logged against? I can see the benefit of assuming the profile of a user that's having problems with an application that the developer can't replicate with his/her own profile. Wow.
