Rob, Well I ran a query that would go to a Printer, PrinterA. But since I started Printera w/ PrinterA2's outq, I was expecting the query printout to go to PrinterA2, which did not happen. But are you saying that this will work for the regular application outputs? rob@xxxxxxxxx wrote:Maybe I need to clarify. Did the writer start? Was there anything in the writers joblog to indicate why it wouldn't play ball? Some things try to send to printers, (like Query/400). Since you still have the PrinterA definition that shouldn't be a big deal. It looks for printerA, goes to it's outq, and printerA2 prints it. Most programs that did 'early binding' and hard coded the original printer models attributes are no longer supported, (OV/400). Let us call it PrinterA. I would like to attach, the PrinterA outq, also called PrinterA, to the PrinterA2, which is physically located in the same office area. Thus, all jobs that would normally send spool files to PrinterA will now have these spools going into PrinterA2. I thought that I could simply start the Writer for PrinterA w/ the outq param PrinterA2, but this did not work. Thank you, Mike --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Take Yahoo!
