Walden,

Don't know that I'd call it a bug.  Since the standards specifically say
that "is either guaranteed to be different
  from all other UUIDs/GUIDs generated until 3400 A.D. or extremely likely
to be different (depending on the mechanism chosen)"


But I looked into it again this morning and it seems IBM felt it was a bug
