Hi Richard, Our shop has been using Visual Lansa using the Framework option to redesign our whole system from the ground up. We have been using the package for about 8 months. Visual Lansa allows you to create business applications within a GUI environment. Ex: Grids, Lists, radio buttons, Drop-down boxes, etc.. The Framework is an optional extension to the package that gives you an MS-Outlook style user interface for the developer as well as the end user. There is a LANSA User group out on YAHOO called LANSA2 that you could check out to get a better feel for the package. I must warn you that the learning curve may be a bit longer than there salesmen might tell you. And there documentation is not the greatest. But the package is pretty nifty. As another poster mentioned, you develop applications on the PC and can utilize a local SYBASE for data or set up your environment to work directly with a database residing on the AS400. Since our task is quite large here, we have not gotten into there Web software yet, although we have future plans to do so. Hope this helps. Robert D. Perno Sr. Programmer/Analyst William S.
