I have used MRC, though that was several years ago.

My criticism then, though may not be relevant now, was that it was marketed
as a management reporting tool.
It was so complex, probably because it was so powerful, that we had an
experienced analyst-programmer working on it almost full-time. The knowledge
of the structure of DB2/400 was a key factor in getting to grips with it,
and being a programmer reduced quite a steep learning curve.

The internal auditors used it, but insisted on Query/400 to validate their
results!

I was once, for my sins, a Lansa Administrator - I never had to create
programs with it.  It was quite easy to manage, configure etc.  I had
previously worked in a Synon shop, and the levels of praise and complaint
among the developers was about the same.
