Golly gee, I really was off base . . . nonetheless, I will make
another suggestion that will kill this bird and solve several others .
. .

We use the MAILWATCH service from Easylink for inbound and outbound
filtering. It costs us ~$2/user/month, and does virus and spam
filtering. The virus filtering is excellent. The spam filtering is
OK.

Our mail dns entries are pointing to their servers, so inbound mail
comes through them. Our outbound mail relays to their servers, and is
delivered to the recipients from their servers. We do not need to
register individual users. And the viruses and spam don't hit our
mail servers.

All in all, I am quite happy with it. I am also sure that there are
other companies offering similar services.

Just a thought.
