Sorry for the confusion. James is correct. I have developed a software product that another company wants to license to use on their i5 system. Until now I have never even thought of reselling so I have never considered a way to secure my intellectual property from misuse and I am not saying that this company would do this but I want to be proactive. I do know that serveral users on this like have commercial software that has such protection schemes in place and was just wondering how they approached it. Thanks. Then do a RCLSTG I think there may be some confusion on this thread. On the one hand, there have been a number of suggestions that have to do with selling off old hardware, whereas it seems to me that the phrases "do not want it handed around," "securing the software," and "software key" all seem to imply that the "iSeries product you wish to resell" is in fact software you wish to publish (in which case, my own earlier post is more to the point).
