You've gotten Client Rollout to work off a DNS server? The only way I've gotten it to "see" the machines for me to deploy to is WINS or by loading the IPs into a text file and importing. -Walden PS. I never said I _like_ WINS, just that I've found it's necessary in some cases. ------------ Walden H Leverich III President & CEO Tech Software (516) 627-3800 x11 WaldenL@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.TechSoftInc.com Quiquid latine dictum sit altum viditur. You don't need WINS to get Symantec Antivirus to do that, I do it without WINS at a customers site with all W2K and WinXP boxes, it does all fine. What is so BAD about WINS that one would very much like to avoid its use in a network ? It's simply the fact that WINS uses broadcasts throughout your whole network every so and so seconds. This produces a "background noise" in your net and wastes bandwith. There are better ways around, one is DDNS. >-Walden > >------------ >Walden H Leverich III >President & CEO >Tech Software >(516) 627-3800 x11 >WaldenL@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx >http://www.TechSoftInc.com > >Quiquid latine dictum sit altum viditur. >(Whatever is said in Latin seems profound.) > > Just my 2 cents, Philipp -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
