Dave, I do not know the answer to your question, but last year I mistakenly
bid on an IBM 3570 tape drive. I did not read the copy close enough and buy
the time I won the bid, it was a model 21 (I think). After some googling, I
found that it was a 3570 built for Win and RS6000. Since I made the error,
I took shipment, and was surprised to find out that it worked perfectly to
the AS400 I hooked it up to. YMMV.

Subject: What is the difference between 7208-341 and 7208-342?

Folks:

I know the 7208-341 tape drive attaches to RS/600 and 7208-342 attaches
to AS/400. Besides this obvious difference, is there any other
differences? Can the 341 attach to the AS/400 and vice versa? Both use
Exabyte Mammoth 8900 HVD SCSI drive under the cover. Both use IDRC for
compression. I suspect some firmware (FECODE & EECODE) differences
but what else? Has anybody used the 341?

Thank You
