go to wrksyssts, press F16, then F11 and look at disk status. Is there a RAID in this machine ? Which controller type ? Is the array DEGRADED ? Could be that the cache battery is faulty, which causes "super slow motion mode" on an affected system, thus resulting in relatively high CPU usage.
Hi,
I seem to remember somebody telling about a hardware problem (battery?) causing high cpu usage?
On an AS400 news group, somebody reports a constant 20% cpu usage on an 170/2183 even when the system is idle. The system has 256MB and is running V4R2. wrkactjob shows no activity - wrksysact is not available.
Any ideas?
