Ignore the insert part for now and just devise a SELECT that produces the
data that you want. Use UNION to append multiple SELECTs together if you
need. Once you have a means of producing your new records, take your SQL
statement and simply prefix it with INSERT INTO library/file ...

Subject: SQL INSERT

Pardon my lameness, but how would one insert rows into a table using a
combination of a subselect and values? I want to insert a row(s) where
some columns would be filled by a select of another table, and other
columns in the same row would be literal values. Also, how does this lame
one insert only a few columns in a table from a subselect? In other
words, I want to put the value in the third column of the selected table
into the first column of the target table. Can you specify totable.column
= fromtable.column?

TIA...
