I've reposted with a more appropriate Subject:

I have a v5r1 machine that is not encoding attachments (e.g., .txt, .csv
from a snddst/document file) correctly. I've set this up before a few times
on v4r5 with no problem. Our Exchange mail guy is telling me that the
attachment is not getting proper Boundary delimiters before/after the file. 

Any suggestions on what to check in SMTP/MSM?
